Some Parade Got Rained On

All the blag and programme notes, the fingers caught in rusty spokes, the Vicars and the tarts were jokes, the velvet and the draylon. A sharp intake incinerates while memory recalls altered states, and we dream that dream of controlling fate,
while some parade got rained on

If I knew now what I'd known then, yeah If I had my chance again & If I'd known then what I know now, yeah I'd love you more somehow. Memory goes to the back of the class, where Janie excelled herself, oh what a lass you can count all yer chickens and have such a blast, but praise the time of yer days
'cos they're movin fast

All the punks and all the songs, when anarchy was not frowned upon we dreamed a future, what went wrong? Some parade got rained on

And if I had a time machine, I'd head on back and I'd change some things, like the time we did that threesome thing, Tiennaman square, and my art degree

If I'd known then what I know now, yeah I'd love you more somehow. If I knew now what I'd known then, yeah I'd love you more I guess, and if I've been absent at times, my place was always by your side, and your face is always in my mind, and every tear I cry I shine for you, some parade got rained on, I shine for you.
